The twists and turns of the past few months have increased volatility within the markets, as a follower of twitter there does seem to be a flight to safety with recent investments in funds falling significantly.

Contrasting with this I read an article in the FT which suggested that actually we should consider that there is no longer a risk free world. This may seem strange but if you consider the flight to safety is normally cash, and cash is paying well below inflation investors are actually getting negative real returns. (Read more…)
