The LWM Charitable Trust currently supports four charities – Motivation, The Park, James House and Emmaus. Our support varies from pure financial support to personal help. We have also supported other charities through our time.

July-2013-147-300x225One of the charities we are currently working with is the Kanamai Development Trust; the charity was established to assist the local community, in the extremely poor Kanamai District of Coastal Kenya, by providing: Free Education, Sanitation, Clean drinking water, Basic Healthcare, and Employment.

By assisting in these ways, they hope to enable some of these people escape the cycle of poverty, by obtaining a job or a career and so becoming financially independent. This is a very, very big “ask”.

The Charity has 3 major spheres of activity: the Little Angels Nursery and Primary School at Mabambani; the Clinic, situated at the School; and the Bomani Farm. In addition, wells and toilet blocks have been constructed in a number of villages.

The charity has made a significant change in the community they work in and we are pleased to be working with them as the ethos of the charity fits well with the LWM Charitable Trust and although financially we are not supporting the charity, George has recently become a trustee of the charity and has been helping them on their marketing.

It is a small charity and has very low overheads which means almost all the money raised goes to the projects they support. George is also working with the charity on a project to raise money for bunk beds for a new dormitory that has been built. Further details will be posted when the campaign is up and running.
